How to find Love
Some people spend a small fortune looking to find love; others find it right in their own neighbourhood. Why are some people searching their whole lives for the same thing that other people find right next-door?
Some of the seekers of love will never find it because their expectations are way too high, so high that it would be impossible for one person to live up to them. Whereas others accept people for who they are, these people are the successful ones when it comes to looking for love.
Usually those who have set very high standards that they expect for the recipient of their affections have a false sense of their own worth. They think that they are smarter, more handsome or wittier than they really are. They don’t see themselves as other people see them.
I’m not saying that ugly men, or poor men, or short men can’t win the affections of a beautiful woman, but usually partners in life will have similarities, and then they have to be understanding of the differences if they want the relationship to survive.
If you are looking for love you will never find it if you think that you are smarter than everybody else. Arrogance is not a quality that attracts love, not true and lasting love, in order to find love and make it last you have to put your partner first.
Look at your circle of friends, if you call somebody a friend usually you have common interests and ideals. The same goes for partners in life, love is sometimes confused with lust, if you want to find love you must also like the person, my wife for example is also my best friend.
Search yourself, are you looking for love in a real person or a fantasy, fantasies usually stay that way. The ideal of love has to be attainable, if you are looking for that perfect man or woman you will be a very lonely person because there is no such thing as perfection when you are talking about a mere human being.
Don’t believe old sayings, especially the one about opposites attract, perhaps they do but when you are talking about people they may attract but they wont stay together. You should look for someone who is similar to yourself, someone who has the same interests and the same goals in life.
Once you have found the love that you have been looking for, nurture it, cherish it and it will grow even bigger. Treat the object of your desires with respect, understanding, and above all else be patient.
